With abstract sorting ongoing, the new deadline for late abstract submission is June 30, 2022. This deadline applies to all submissions (posters and talks). Poster only submission will remain possible until July 15.

Please make sure that your paper does not contain non-English font packages (for example, Japanese, Korean or Chinese fonts, etc.).

Session selection

During the submission process, two options are available: “oral or poster” and “poster only“.

Important: There is no oral-only option, you must be willing to present a poster if you opt for oral consideration.

Criteria for abstract acceptance

The ECOSS Program Committee will meet to review abstracts. Abstracts must meet the following criteria:

1.The results presented in each abstract should add something new to our base of knowledge. The novel aspect of your work is an important consideration during abstract review.

2. The abstract should include sufficient results to properly represent the experiments that will be presented.

3. There must be a fundamental difference between each of the abstracts submitted from a research group. The same results may not appear in multiple presentations.

4. Each attendee can be the presenting author of up to two abstracts (although an individual may be listed as a co-author on multiple abstracts).

Presentation Information

  • Oral contribution guidelines

Projection will be available in the session rooms which are equipped with a laptop or desktop computer, a projector, a microphone and a pointer.To ensure the changeover between talks is efficient, all presentations should be transferred to the computer in the session room before the start of the session in which it will be presented. Each speaker must ensure than his/her presentation (incl. questions) is no longer than that stipulated in the programme.

  • Length of talks
    • Plenary talk: 50 min + 10 min discussion
    • Invited talk: 35 min + 5 min discussion
    • Oral Talk: 17 min + 3 min discussion
  • Instructions for presentation
    • Supported presentation types: MS Office / Adobe PDF
    • The following mass storage devices are accepted: USB stick / external HDD / Presentation’s privacy

At the end of the conference ALL presentations and associated files will be deleted.

  • Poster presentation guideline

The poster exhibition will be held at the conference venue (1st floor). Covering all topics for the conference.

All posters will remain on display for the duration of these two sessions. Presenters of posters with an even number in their ID should be available at their posters on the Tuesday evening session and odd numbered posters on Thursday.

  • General Information

Your poster board will be marked with the same ID as listed in the programme booklet (for example – CAT-P-1) and which was sent with your acceptance notification via email. The layout of the poster boards and assignment of board numbers can be found in the programme booklet. Lists of posters to be presented for each session topic can be found by following the links on our website; poster presentations can be found towards the bottom of the pages, under the list of talks.

All presenting authors should ensure that their poster is affixed to the corresponding numbered board by the start of the first poster session on Tuesday the 30th. All posters should be removed by lunch time on Friday  the 2nd of September at the latest.

  • Poster Format

The maximum acceptable size for a poster is A0 and should be in portrait format (84 cm wide x 119 cm high). Participants are asked to bring their printed poster with them as no poster printers will be available at the conference.  Suitable tape  will be provided.
